{"id":14520,"date":"2021-08-16T01:30:48","date_gmt":"2021-08-15T13:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demo.sitesoft.com\/?p=14520"},"modified":"2026-03-10T09:55:28","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:55:28","slug":"fatality-caused-by-poor-systems-and-communication","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siteconnect.io\/gb\/blog\/fatality-caused-by-poor-systems-and-communication\/","title":{"rendered":"Fatality Caused By Poor Systems and Communication"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two businesses were taken to court and charged over the loss of life of a worker in the logging industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2018Pakiri Logging Limited was fined $468,000 and Ernslaw One Limited\u2019 was fined $288,000\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s evident from this example that businesses need to take responsibility for the health &amp; safety of their workforce or face harsh, crippling penalties.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Communication is an essential practise to ensure the best\/appropriate protocols are taken.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to WorkSafe,&nbsp;<em>\u201c\u2026the East Coast [fatality] could have been avoided if industry guidance had simple been followed.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We couldn\u2019t agree more.
