The platform

Everything an engineering team needs on every client site

Four jobs, one connected record: prequalify the specialist, induct your engineers to the site, know where everyone is, and prove the permits and equipment checks happened.

Subcontractor & specialist prequalification

Know a specialist is compliant before they're on the drawing

Send a prequal questionnaire, collect insurances, licences and tickets, safe work method statements and competency records from scaffolders, crane operators, NDT technicians and other specialists — and see a clear status against every company on your approved list. Documents expire on their own — SiteConnect chases the renewal, not you.

  • Liability cover, tickets and competency expiry tracked automatically
  • Approve, decline or request more information with a full audit trail
  • One prequal covers every project you run — no re-doing it per contract

Site & client-site inductions

A ready induction for whichever site your engineer lands on next

Your team moves between construction sites, plants and client premises all week. Each site gets its own induction — access, live plant, isolation points, confined spaces and the site's own risk register — completed on a phone before anyone walks in, with the record kept against the project.

  • A different induction per client site, reusable across your firm
  • Site rules and hazards acknowledged in writing, with expiry
  • Proof of induction ready before a client asks for it
Site sign-in & lone worker check-ins

Know where every engineer is, even on a remote site alone

Engineers sign in by QR code on arrival, and lone workers on remote or after-hours jobs check in with an expected finish time. If a check-in is missed, SiteConnect escalates to a supervisor automatically with the last known site — no more relying on a text message that never comes.

  • QR sign-in at the site, or a check-in from the app anywhere
  • Blocked sign-in when a prequal, ticket or induction has lapsed
  • Missed check-ins escalate automatically, with location on record

Permits, JSAs & equipment checks

Sign off the risk before the high-risk work starts

Build the permits and JSAs you already use — working at height, confined space entry, electrical isolation — as digital forms that need an engineer's and an authoriser's sign-off before work begins. Track test & tag, calibration and plant condition against the register, and raise a corrective action against whatever fails.

  • Every permit and JSA linked back to the project for your records
  • A failed check blocks entry and notifies the authoriser
  • Recurring schedules for test & tag, calibration and plant inspections
Built for New Zealand

Overlapping duties, sorted — even on someone else's site

You remain a PCBU even when your engineers are working on a client's site, and your duties overlap with the site controller's. SiteConnect gives you the evidence WorkSafe expects — who you engaged, what they were told about the site, who signed off the permit, where everyone was, and what you did when something was found.

Hosted for NZ and Australia, and used by more than 500 organisations across the country.

HSWA duty of care
Consultation, co-operation and co-ordination with the client and specialists, recorded.
Permit & isolation evidence
Sign-offs, calibration and corrective actions kept per project, ready to hand over.
Notifiable events
Incidents reported from the app with photos, investigation and sign-off.
Audit-ready export
Export a project's compliance history to PDF when a client or insurer asks.
Why engineering teams choose us

Every project, every specialist, one flat price

Most safety systems punish you for winning more work and charge for every subcontractor you link. We don't — so the tool scales with your project pipeline instead of your budget.

No charge per project

Add every project and client site you're running — 4 or 40 — without the licence cost climbing. New contract awarded? Set it up in an afternoon.

Free for subcontractors & specialists

Scaffolders, crane operators and other specialists get their own free account to upload tickets and insurances, complete inductions and sign in. Nothing to buy means no pushback.

Built for mobile, distributed teams

One dashboard across every project, with lone worker check-ins doing the watching. One H&S lead can cover a team scattered across a dozen sites.

See it on your own projects

Half an hour, no obligation. We'll set up one of your projects on the call so you can see exactly how prequals, inductions, lone worker check-ins and permits fit together.

What you'll see on your demo
A project set up live — induction, risk register and QR sign-in in a few minutes.
A specialist prequal — what you ask for, and what happens when it expires.
The lone worker view — how a check-in, expected finish time and escalation work.
A permit signed off on a phone — with a failed check and a corrective action raised.
Portfolio reporting — how it looks across twelve projects, not one.

★★★★★
Every project in one place

"We run a dozen client sites at once with one H&S manager. Adding a project without a new licence changed how we work."

RMRachel · H&S Manager
★★★★★
Lone worker peace of mind

"Our engineers work solo on substations after hours. A missed check-in now pings me straight away instead of a family member the next morning."

HTHone · Engineering Lead
★★★★★
Permits that actually get signed

"A failed calibration check blocks the confined space entry before anyone gets near it, and the corrective action doesn't get forgotten."

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge per project or per client site?

No. Add as many projects and client sites as you're working across without a per-site fee, so a new contract costs you setup time and nothing else.

Do subcontractors and specialists have to pay to use SiteConnect?

No. Scaffolders, crane operators, NDT technicians and other specialists get a free account to complete prequals and inductions, upload documents and sign in on site. That's usually why uptake is fast.

Can each client site have its own induction and hazards?

Yes. Each project or client site has its own induction, risk register and permit register, while prequals and JSA templates are shared across your firm so you only build them once.

Does it handle lone workers on remote sites?

Yes. Engineers check in and out from their phone, set an expected finish time, and a missed check-in escalates to a supervisor automatically — with the last known site on record.

What are my duties under HSWA when my engineers work on a client's site?

You remain a PCBU even on someone else's site, and your duties overlap with the site controller's. In practice you need to check the specialists you engage, make sure your people are inducted and briefed on that site's hazards, get permits and JSAs signed off before high-risk work, and know where everyone is. SiteConnect records each of those steps.

Can I manage permits to work and JSAs before high-risk tasks?

Yes. Build a JSA or permit for tasks like working at height, confined space entry or electrical isolation, require sign-off from the engineer and an authoriser before work starts, and keep the record against the project.
